چکیده

The Hubbard model is used to study an electronic system at half filling. Starting from a functional integral representation the spinup Grassmann field is integrated out. It is shown that the resulting spinless fermion theory has an instantaneous cluster interaction, and that the spinless fermions are coupled to thermally fluctuating Ising spins. The coupling parameter of the spinless fermion interaction is a product of the Hubbard interaction and the hopping rate. As an example the strongly metallic as well as the strongly insulating regime are investigated in terms of the effective Ising statistics. The Falicov-Kimball model : a review of exact results and extensions

The Falicov-Kimball model is a simplified version of the the Hubbard model in which only one type of electron (e.g. spin down) is allowed to hop. It describes in particular a system of spinless quantum particles interacting with classical particles (Ising spins). In this review we present the progress which has been accomplished in the last decade concerning this model, with an emphasis on rigo...

Transport of one-dimensional interacting fermions through a barrier.

We study the transport properties of one-dimensional (1D) interacting Fermions through a barrier by numerically calculating the Kohn charge stiffness constant and the relative Drude weight. We find that the transport properties of the 1D Hubbard model are quite different from those of the 1D spinless Fermion model. For example, the presence of the attractive interaction between electrons in the...

We consider the effect of weak nonmagnetic disorder on two chains of interacting fermions (with and without spins) coupled by interchain hopping. For the spinless case, interchain hopping increases localization for repulsive interactions but stabilizes the s-wave superconducting phase for attractive interactions. For the case with spin, the d-wave phase arising from purely repulsive interaction...

Frustrated quantum Ising spins simulated by spinless bosons in a tilted lattice: from a quantum liquid to antiferromagnetic order

Abstract We study spinless bosons in a decorated square lattice with a near-diagonal tilt. The resonant subspace of the tilted Mott insulator is described by an e↵ective Hamiltonian of frustrated quantum Ising spins on a non-bipartite lattice. This generalizes an earlier proposal for the unfrustrated quantum Ising model in one dimension which was realized in a recent experiment on ultracold 87R...

Fermionic quantum critical point of spinless fermions on a honeycomb lattice

Spinless fermions on a honeycomb lattice provide a minimal realization of lattice Dirac fermions. Repulsive interactions between nearest neighbors drive a quantum phase transition from a Dirac semimetal to a charge-density-wave state through a fermionic quantum critical point, where the coupling of the Ising order parameter to the Dirac fermions at low energy drastically affects the quantum cri...
